Yeah, there are a lot of different ways you can do things depending on what equipment you have and what you want to try and do. Mining works very well. Patch perfect world indonesia underworld. PVE works well on a small scale.
PVP - you want to really know what you're doing before trying that. If you use windows - you will have a problem if you also try to run an instance full screen.
Clicking anywhere outside of the full screen instance of the game will drop it to the task bar. If all instances are in windows you can switch between them easily - if you can see them - which depends on how many monitors you've got. Correction program for md04 sap. Multiple computers works best. Multiple monitors is next. Atl tabbing will work but is less than desirable if there's any combat going on. If you have multiple systems and multiple accounts you want to fool around with different combinations to see what works best for each activity on each system.

One thing I found that worked well was - for those systems that had two monitors - staying in full screen on the main monitor - while having the task bar showing on the other. That way you can click on exactly the character you want to bring up rather than alt tabbing about. Of course - this was best used for more than two clients - as otherwise you could just put them both in a window. It did depend however on how each system ran in a window as some work much better than others. So after learning that multiboxing is allowed in eve i would like to know which multiboxing program is the most popular and used in EvE, Are there any free multiboxers out there? So far i have found ISBoxer which costs money, what other multiboxers are out there?
PvP: Only multibox if you are really good at what you do and know what you are doing. PvE: ISBoxer or just plain simple windowed mode and multiple screens (one or 2 accounts on a single screen).
Can be done easily. Even better when mining or trading is involved as it requires almost no attention at all. Synergy is designed for when you have multiple machines, each with their own screen, and want to only use one keyboard/mouse. It wouldn't really help at all if you have just one screen and are using a KVM switch. Also, @Toshiro GreyHawk, you should check out Fixed WIndowed mode. It has the fullscreen view but with the window-switching ability of Windowed mode. I find that it works much better than running things fullscreen and having them minimize whenever you want to change windows (even if you're just multitasking on your comp with one Eve window open).

Don't use typical multiboxer software. I'm not using a bundle of mice taped together because it's cool, I'm doing it because it's the only thing I know of that isn't against the EULA. Check the first section for pics of a mouse bundle and my 6 keypads with wooden dowels that allow me to press some of the keys on all 6 of them with less effort and arthritis than trying to do it with your fingers. Petition CCP so we can software multibox - Eve will always be one of the hardest game to multibox due to the need for so much mouse interaction but at least it would be nice to have the same tools that WoW multiboxers have. When you get really comfortable doing the ordinary you can tackle the real multiboxing prize: spider tanking. Issue a request for shields with one guy and have everyone else target him via the broadcast link and engage shield/armor transfers. If you can master this (you'll screw up a lot and end up shooting your own guys or healing the enemy at times) be ready to potentially tackle some big complexes by yourself.
Spider tanking is not necessary to have a lot of fun multiboxing, passive tank fleets work just fine too.
I'm starting to think I want to get into multiboxing, primarily so that I can run a 2nd scout account for gate camping in a sabre, and also probably train that scout account into cyno's too. So my question is to the multiboxers - what do you do for monitors? I currently have a 29' 21:9 LG IPS screen that I love - 2560x1080, gives loads of room for local/dscan/etc. And still a lot of playable space. I could technically run 2 clients in window'd mode side by side at 1280x1080 but the UI would be quite cluttered. My other options are to run a 2nd monitor (I have a spare 27' lying around) or sell both my monitors and get something like the X34 predator that would easily run 2 clients side by side. Thoughts and pictures of your rigs/ui setups would be awesome:).

Eve Multi Boxing Software
I run two clients - one with my main and one scanning alt for scouting wormhole chains and sitting on wormholes. For this I use a primary monitor, a 24' screen with a 1920 1080 resolution and an older 19' screen with a 12801024 resolution.
It works quite well and has the bonus that a secondary monitor gives a big bonus to productivity, since you can show so much more stuff at once, which isn't as convenient as having two windows open at the same time. A lot of other games also run in windowed fullscreen which allow you to use the second monitor to browse the web during downtimes.
